Fire Workshop

Watch as Mo Bissonnette demonstrates how to make fire without matches. Using Bow Drill, Hand Drill and flint and steel. Also if the space allows we will learn how to make our own fire in this 30min-1 and half hour workshop for kids of any age.

Primitive Hunting Tools

Learn how cavemen and women used Bows and arrows, Atlatls, Throwing Stick and other hunt Mammoths and other creatures of the time. Part of this 40min-1 hour workshop will be focused on demonstration of the use of these tool and how they were made. The other half is experience and games and fun.

Tracking Nature Walk

Discover animals and bugs and frogs as we take a short walk playing games and learning about nature. This workshop is a smorgasbord of all the classes and camps offered by Numina Wilderness School. It can focus on a particular aspect of nature( like tracking mammal or going on a frog finding mission) but all of the walks will be centered around getting people in sired about nature be they teens or pre-schoolers.

Private Classes at Home

If your family is interested in any of the classes offered on the Numina Wilderness School Website and want to learn more in your own backyards you can request a private workshop at your home. Learn what animals are living in your backyard by their tracks, what trees are in your woods and what plants can be used for medicine and food? Classes are about 1 to 2 hours for kids or adults.

Personal Mentoring  

 Mentoring is is one on one teaching of nature education through wilderness survival and naturalist knowledge over a long period of time. It includes a 2hr or 5hr session every other week. Going on adventures, building shelters, connecting and learning about nature and discovering our place in the forests of Vermont.
